The North County Bar Association’s 10th annual Bench/Bar/Media Program, set for Thursday, Oct. 15, will focus on “San Diego’s Changing Media Part Two: Where are the Reporters?”
The dinner program follows last year’s discussion of how the Internet and expansion of 24-hour radio and television news broadcasts have changed the way we get our news. This year’s panel of journalists will focus on how shrinking budgets, depleted staff and compressed deadlines are affecting court news coverage in San Diego. Panelists include North County Times editor Kent Davy, Clear Channel’s Phil Farrer, and others. San Diego Superior Court Judge Harry Elias will moderate the discussion.
The program will be held at Shadowridge Country Club, 1980 Gateway Drive, in Vista. A no-host cocktail reception begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $28 per person. RSVP by Monday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. to the North County Bar office at (760) 758-5833 or to Bench/Bar/Media Committee chair Lynn Behymer at behymeresq@aol.com.
