Stop by the next SPJ board meeting Tuesday, June 12

The SPJ San Diego board welcomes all members, local journalists and students to attend board meetings to give your ideas for programs and to help us plan events.

Board meetings are generally held the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the fifth floor cafeteria at the U-T San Diego building.

Mel Shapiro is his own man.The 84-year-old citizen activist had gotten the word that SPJ wanted to honor him for his exceptional and longtime efforts on behalf of transparency in government. As this years recipient of the San Diego Society of Professional Journalists Sunshine Award we wondered if he had a preference for a location for the presentation.
