There’s been a flood of stories (some of them Pulitzer Prize-winning) over the past year about NSA monitoring, giving reporters and whistleblowers particular reason for concern.

So what can you do to shield yourself and your sources?

San Diego SPJ will team up with local technologists on Wednesday, May 7 to teach San Diego journalists how to use free privacy and encryption tools.

Participants will come away with working knowledge of anonymous web browsing and encrypted communication tools they can immediately put to use.

Space is limited so registration is required. Click here to RSVP:

Participants will receive a confirmation email with more details prior to the event.

Date: Wednesday, May 7

Time: Doors open at 6 p.m. Training will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Location: World Resource SimCenter @ 1088 Third Avenue San Diego, CA 92101

Hope to see you then.
