SPJ partners with Veterans History Project

The San Diego Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will be partnering with the Veterans History Project. Members are encouraged to volunteer in this ongoing project with the Library of Congress to collect and make accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans. After all, SPJ members are uniquely qualified to help our city’s veterans share and preserve their stories.

Interviews are typically 30 minutes each and will be unedited in digital form. If you’d like to volunteer, please email to Timothy Caudill in Rep. Scott Peters’ office: timothy.caudill@mail.house.gov. He will then connect you with area schools and library partners who will coordinate interview times with local veterans. For example, many interviews may be scheduled on a Saturday in a school gymnasium. This project is on-going.
